    The Tax Cut That Wasn't

Yes, but excluding Amazon's part-timers, contractors and others (mainly poorly paid US workers allowed under the US 'minimum wage' regime), think of the billions of dollars of tax paid by Amazon's 613,000-strong worldwide workforce. It's better to ka-ching from a US base rather than export the whole Amazonian kit and caboodle to China. Or is it?

    New Coup Against Corbyn

Seven moderate Labour MP's dump Corbyn and his party’s stance on Brexit and economic policies The seven Labour MPs who resigned represent the first co-ordinated departure of Labour MPs since Corbyn became leader in 2015. Tom Watson, Labour’s deputy leader, warned that more MPs would resign if the party did not change. “I love this party — but sometimes I no longer recognise it,” Watson said, calling on Corbyn to do more to reflect the “balance of opinion” among Labour MPs. The resignations are not expected to trigger an immediate change in Corbyn’s ambiguous Brexit policy, or alter the daunting parliamentary arithmetic facing Prime Minister May's as she struggles to secure approval for her withdrawal agreement. Corbyn said he was “disappointed” by the MPs’ departure. Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell said a Labour split would be “like the 1980s” when the formation of the Social Democratic party in 1981 enabled Margaret Thatcher to stay in power as Conservative prime minister. “What happens now will be determined by who comes forward and supports us . . . This really is it, guys,” one of the 'Group of Seven' resigned Labour MP's said. The 'Group of Seven' delivered a broad critique of Corbyn’s leadership, saying his Labour party had failed “to provide a strong and coherent alternative to the Conservatives’ approach” to Brexit, “threatens to destabilise the British economy in pursuit of ideological objectives” and “would weaken our national security”. Resigned Labour MP and Jew, Luciana Berger, says anti-semitism has become entrenched in the UK Labour party under Corbyn One of the Labour MPs who resigned, Luciana Berger, said she could no longer stay in a party that had become “institutionally anti-Semitic” and had “a culture of bullying, bigotry and intimidation”. Another of the 'Seven', Chris Leslie said Labour had been hijacked by the “machine politics of the hard-left.” Fellow 'Seven' resignee, Mike Gapes said he was sickened by anti-Semitism in the party and was furious with the Labour leadership for facilitating Brexit. “Jeremy Corbyn and those around him are on the wrong side of so many international issues, from Russia, to Syria to Venezuela,” Gapes said. London mayor Sadiq Khan said “the Labour Party needs to do much more to root out the evil of anti-Semitism.” Tellingly, Khan went on to say: “when the Labour Party splits it only leads to one outcome – a Tory government.” Approval for Corbyn, which was already low, has plunged over his response to the Brexit deadlock. One poll found Corbyn's ‘dissatisfaction’ score at 72 per cent, a record for any opposition leader whether Labour, Conservative or drover's dog. https://on.ft.com/2GOaj7j or https://www.ft.com/content/924b9286-335e-11e9-bb0c-42459962a812 Additional reporting: https://www.smh.com.au/world/europe/labour-centrists-quit-party-recalling-failed-80s-experiment-20190218-p50ynq.html

    New Coup Against Corbyn

At the end of that last Partridge piece, there's a shot of the old BBC Television Centre when it was a going concern. Now it's a giant apartment complex up for sale with ghostly apparitions of past stars haunting the corridors. Pricey too. I wouldn't mind a one-bedder in the Python wing but. https://televisioncentre.com/

How could anyone argue with someone who says "I'm insane but" three times in a single post?

I do find Coogan and Brydon's Trip movies mildly amusing. Beautiful cinematography to boot (when outside the UK, especially in the Italian Trip).

Of course you're right Foxy, one cannot forget Deep Purple and their wonderful tribute to Mary Whitehouse and Lord Longford, with those marvellous lyrics in their tributous Mary Long song circa 1973 : Mary Long is a hypocriteShe does all the things that she tells us not to doSelling filth from a corner shopAnd knitting patterns to the high street queueShe paints roses, even makes them smell goodAnd then she draws titties on the khazi wallDrowns kittens just to get a thrillAnd writes sermons in the Sunday Chronicle #ends Aww, they just don't write 'em like that anymore. Of course in about six months' time people will say: Corbyn who? But alas, women will keep on shooting, and increasingly so.

If you two didn't post so much Twitter tripe to this thread and instead made your posts factual, engaging and vaguely interesting; perhaps this Corbyn thread wouldn't be languishing in the viewing doldrums: Y'all need moar gunz.

Despite Americans' extraordinarily bad dress sense, only mad Scotsman Donald Trump Esq. would play golf with the Queen while wearing a kilt. Ban the kilt. "I don't suppose I could grab your vag, Madge?"

Yes, but by the same token, who would take any notice of a Scottish git regurgitating US political conspiracy theories espoused by an Aussie astrologer and then ramming that raw tripe down the throats of our American brethren and brethrenesses here at ETF? At least I don't believe in astrologers, let alone a maddie with no shred of credibility. Could it be that Jerry's extraordinarily high-level disapproval ratings among potential voters can be attributed to his: anti-semitism lack of economic nouse misogyny friendship with Arab killers friendship with Russian arsehole criminals confusion over whether he's anti- or pro-Brexit inability to fight his way out of a wet paper bag ability to lie non-condemnation of pedophiles inability to gauge the mood of the public Get.Rid.Of.Jerry.

    Women who shoot men . . .

Woman shoots ex-lover and girlfriend in bad bust-up Saginaw, MI - A breakup involving two women and a new girlfriend led to an attack that left all three women shot, according to Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel. “One fell out of love with the other and in love with someone else,” Federspiel said. “She couldn’t handle it and was going to kill them all and maybe even herself.” Sherry Mandel, 56, of Owosso, is accused of parking her vehicle down the road and walking to her ex-girlfriend’s home armed with a wrench and handgun, according to Federspiel. Police believe Sherry forced her way inside the home and bound and gagged her ex-girlfriend while waiting for the woman’s new girlfriend to arrive, Federspiel said. Once the third woman arrived, police allege Sherry shot her and then turned the gun on her ex and shot her as well, the sheriff said. “Then there was a struggle and the gun went off and the suspect was shot as well and that bought time for the two victims to get out of the home,” Federspiel said. One of Federspiel’s sheriff detectives was nearby and able to arrive on the scene along with officers from Michigan State Police and St. Charles police. They moved the victims away from the area to an ambulance which took them to a nearby airfield to be flown to hospitals. The victims are listed in serious and critical conditions. Sherry barricaded herself in the home, but police were able to talk her out. She was transported to a Saginaw hospital where she was treated and released into police custody. She was arraigned on two counts of assault with intent to murder and one count of felony firearms. Each assault charge is punishable by up to life in prison. The judge set a $1 million cash bond for Sherry. https://www.mlive.com/news/saginaw-bay-city/2018/12/breakup-led-to-attack-that-left-3-women-shot-in-chesaning-sheriff-says.html

Feel free to list all the reasons, in your opinion, Corbyn isn't regularly leading the polls by at least 5+ percentage points . He's unelectable. Get a new Labour opposition leader before it's too late and UK Labour slips further into the mire.
