Ah, that's a shame: she's too young and he's too old.   What to do, what to do?

Whoopi Goldberg criticized AOC on her program, saying she pooped on her Democratic predecessors and to be quiet.

AOC responded that she will do what she was elected to do.

Weird fascination by the media for AOC.

The Clintonistas hate her.

AOC and the other new, young women in Congress are demonstrating that young women in politics now expect to be accepted and respected just for being themselves. They don't need to modify their personalities to avoid offending anyone. They don't need to be a personality free zone. They don't need to hide themselves away at all. This is hugely confronting to a lot of people.

What might also be confronting to a lot of people is the fact that she described herself as a socialist.

Quote

Stop wasting time on these personal attacks and criticize Ocasio-Cortez's socialist ideas instead. Explain why they are unaffordable and unworkable.

If that was what people were confronted by, they'd be talking about that and not her dancing, etc.

The article from Reason also says:

Quote

Conservatives who obsessively comment on Ocasio-Cortez's wardrobe and dance video are feeding into the narrative that the right is anti-women and doesn't treat them seriously.

Well... yeah. There's a reason why it feeds into that narrative.

They'll be talking about that soon enough. THis is just mysoginistic opportunism.

Both the Right and the Centre will either force her to give up the Socialism or smear her without mercy.

And that includes people like Whoopi

That remains to be seen, sure that they have gotten this far is a tremendous credit to them - but are they one hit wonders - or are they (or others like them) going to be fixtures election after election?

This reflects the current status of politics in America, the republicans stand for nothing except power & control, so they will do whatever they have to to ignore her message and go for what they believe to be the softer target - the messenger.

AOC has been on the scene since she won her primary against an established Democrat in the first half of last year. That's when people first started talking about her. She campaigned alongside Bernie Sanders for other candidates throughout last year. Her socialist stance is well known, and she has been one of the biggest advocates for the Green New Deal. You're acting like she just turned up.

Nope. Been following her progress for some time now. But, hey, you're the cool kid on this block so, whatever you say.

The mysogenists and other idiots expect the women elected to Congress to shut up and sit down. Be nice. Be a doormat.

The new women elected, especially minority women are hammered by the old guard. Only 20% of Congress are women but that's increasing over time. Every election more women are elected. This terrifies the ruling and conservative class.

Rashida Tlaib, the first muslim woman elected, is attacked for anti semitism, unpatriotic, etc. At a rally she said "Impeach the motherf-cker" Trump's used lots of obscenities yet condemned her and called her a disgrace to her family.

Apparently attempts by the Democrat hierarchy to rein in AOC are not going according to hopes.

So many anonymous quotes. Too many. Politico is a crappy publication, and this illustrates why.

What we do know: Republicans hate AOC. Men hate AOC. Timid, wincing, conservadems hate AOC. The Clintonista Cult women hate AOC.

In the Democratic Party you kiss ass, run for office, lose, kiss ass, maybe win, kiss lots of ass, run for a higher office, lose, kiss even more ass, win, and so on, until it's finally your "turn" to be the party anointed candidate for a particular national office. AOC defied that whole system, along with a bunch of other newbies. They hate her for it. She's very, very good at playing the social media game. They hate her for that, too - because they suck at it. Democrats really suck at social media and messaging.

But Maxie, she has to go into the fold.  It's warm and safe in there, especially for the Clintonistas.  Apparently, they have an executive bathroom with free toiletries and unlimited Amazon gift cards...

So do you think that since Hillary lost, her political allies, i.e what the Dude was referring too, have all disappeared from the DNC  and have nothing to do with 2019's political landscape.

If so, did they take the unicorns with them?

They haven't disappeared, they're just in the minority now. There's been a generational change. That's what AOC represents.

I wish that were so. The Clintonistas still have control of the party. They ARE the party hierarchy. The chair of the NH Democratic Party is a Clintonista. He does his level best to sabotage grassroots candidates and progressives. That's why our Congressional delegation (2 senators, 2 Congresspersons) is comprised of Clintonistas. Both Congresscritters are members of the New Democrats caucus. The "New Dems" are a Clinton creation.

AOC may represent the new generation, but the Clintonistas have control of the Democratic Party - and that's not going to change any time soon.
